Week 14 Part B: What we Learn from FaceBook Analytics

Based off the information on my facebook page I was able to gather a few different and useful insights. I wasn't able to get to the 100 likes to access facebook analytics because my main social media sources are Instagram and YouTube, but I started a few ads for my instagram page through facebook, so I also have insights and data on those advertisements.

The data I first looked at was the post engagement for this past week and then the engagements for the last 28 days. For this last week my page (I'm assuming this is including the promoted instagram post through facebook...?) reached 7.3k people and had 36 engagements. While the total for the last 28 days was 14,140 and 141 post engagements. Next, I want to mention how well the facebook/instagram ads worked. I had started with just a small amount of money to basically see how the ads work. It was interesting because facebook allows you to do ads within your account for your facebook page or for instagram.

It was tough at first to figure out how to start the ads and navigate the ads section, but I eventually figured out how to set an ad. Using facebook ads I was able to set an ad for several geographical locations, age range and even for a more targeted ad audience with keywords. I set three different post ads for instagram through facebook within the last week or so and I put in different targeted information for each. I have also set ads through instagram as well, which I personally find a bit easier, but I do appreciate the facebook ads center for studying the data in a bit more detailed way.

Last, but definitely not least I have to talk about the data of the ads that I set. The first post I set through facebook for instagram was a k fashion photo for $2 set in the geographical areas of South Korea and Japan with the ages 18-28. This ad received a reach of 961, post engagement amount of 166. The next ad was another fashion photo $2 ad, but set in the United States in the cities of Los Angeles, San Diego and Orange County with the age group 16-26. This ad reached 565 people with an a post engagement amount of 145.

The third k fashion photo ad I set had a broader geographical range and $1.04 was spent. This ad was set in other places where kpop is also popular like Sao Paulo, Jakarta, Tokyo, and Mexico City. I added these locations to all of the previous spots along with a couple other US cities in this third ad. So it was a collective location ad and the results were surprising! The age group was slightly bigger with ages 13-28 and it received a reach of 3,094 and 675 post engagements! I thought this ad earned good results for the tiny bit of money spent, so I was quite happy about that.

Morgan's Blog (Week 1-CSIT 155)

Welcome to My Blog!       ~Hello~ Bienvenidos ~ 안녕하세요     Hello everyone! So I decided to go with one of the “Notable” pink styled themed because it was one of the first templates I really felt fit the blog style I envisioned. This template automatically caught my eye so I went with it! First, I’m a fan of pink colored things including clothes, gifts and makeup and I like the fairly simple blog template.  I also feel that pink is a nice and pleasant uplifting color so I like to have the color incorporated in my media themes. Pink is bright and is often used in a pastel way or in a retro way and I am also a fan of those styles of design. (I also utilize pink quite...

Week 16: Social Media Management Tools

This week is really interesting because we will be taking a look at a number of different marketing tools that I have actually never seen. So this is exciting! I didn't know there were external sites outside of Google and YouTube Analytics to track data, this is something that's really interesting to look into.  The first site is Sprout Social and it looks relatively use friendly to use and it gives you a 30 day free trial. Looks like one of the cons it that its starts at $99 a month and that's stated to be more costly than others.  The next site is HootSuite and this is considerably cheaper than the previous Sprout Social, starting at $29 a month. It also looks like there is a free plan too which is great for new marketers, it says that one of the cons is limited tools.  Zoho Social looks like an affordable marketing application starting at $10 for individuals, but more expensive starting at $200 for agencies. Zoho offers a lot in terms of social me...

Week 11: Marketing with Twitter, LinkedIn, Social Influencers

This week is a really big week because the content is about several different social media/business platforms as well as social media influencing which is something that I am pursuing. I just opened a new Twitter and LinkedIn account for my kpop page. First, LinkedIn is something that I have opened a long time ago and I also have opened a personal Twitter a while ago. This is the first time I’m using both for a more business aspect of social media. I’m excited to have my new Twitter handle @moskpoppage! Twitter:  https://twitter.com/moskpoppage LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/mo-b-379a5520b/   For the LinkedIn platform, I think it’s cool how it connects you to other business around and companies in your field of business. This is something I want it really engage in further to connect to others in my area of entertainment and social media, I haven’t really used LinkedIn so it will be really helpful to increase my usage of the application and add more to my pr...
