Week 13 Part A: Online Advertising - Analysis of the Marketplace

Advertisement research has been quite interesting, I noticed when I’m checking Instagram there’s quite a few food sponsored posts and I’ve also seen musician sponsored post from other accounts. I also see some cosmetic and fashion sponsored ads. YouTube ads include a number of different ad brands and companies. The YouTube ads often seem to be random it feels while Instagram ads seem to be more targeted toward the user. I do find that the YouTube advertisements are quite bothering because some ads include the 5-10 second non-skippable ads. I’m not super familiar with Facebook ads because it’s not a platform I use super often, but I find it very interesting how relevant Instagram ads are. During scrolling you can be thinking or talking about a product or restaurant and the advertisement or sponsored post appears, certain companies have definitely mastered the Instagram algorithm. I also find that the Instagram ads normally have good photography, sometimes they even make you click and h

Week 12 Part B: Business Specific Tools

This week was definitely a highly informative one on even more platforms for social media and marketing. For this blog post I have to talk about #2 (Music Sites) and the section of (OTHERS.) First, the music sites is a huge area for me as a pianist and music producer as well. I've been able to release music and start an artist page on Spotify and SoundCloud, but I really want to talk about even more platforms for music. YouTube of course is great for putting musician videos, tutorials etc. but for basic music distribution for independent artists/musicians like myself there are sites like DistroKid and CDbaby which are very popular and well used for musicians everywhere. These are two highly recommended independent artist distribution websites and they are also relatively easy to navigate.     Next, I want to talk about another site that I used to build my kpop webpage recently. The site I used is WIX, it was very useful. I had used it a couple times before, but I looked at some ne

Week 12 Part A: Business Specific Online Tools

The article on "MoreTools" was a very informative one about extra platforms for connecting with consumers and potential buyers. Based off what I read on more media tools I definitely will expand on using LinkedIn. I think LinkedIn will be great for connecting and discovering potential job opportunities. I found it interesting how the article mentioned "Yelp" and Google Maps, I found it super interesting that you can create your own Google Map. I never knew much about who inputs addresses and information into Google, I assumed it was maybe people that work for Google.  Next, I have personally used Yelp quite a bit to check out restaurants and what other consumers thought of the food and service. I think Yelp is great to use for finding out information about a business. I personally don't think I could use this at the time for my branding. If I had more of selling or product type of business this would be more useful to my brand.  This next part of the article abo

Week 11: Marketing with Twitter, LinkedIn, Social Influencers

This week is a really big week because the content is about several different social media/business platforms as well as social media influencing which is something that I am pursuing. I just opened a new Twitter and LinkedIn account for my kpop page. First, LinkedIn is something that I have opened a long time ago and I also have opened a personal Twitter a while ago. This is the first time I’m using both for a more business aspect of social media. I’m excited to have my new Twitter handle @moskpoppage! Twitter:  https://twitter.com/moskpoppage LinkedIn:  https://www.linkedin.com/in/mo-b-379a5520b/   For the LinkedIn platform, I think it’s cool how it connects you to other business around and companies in your field of business. This is something I want it really engage in further to connect to others in my area of entertainment and social media, I haven’t really used LinkedIn so it will be really helpful to increase my usage of the application and add more to my profile. Recently I h

Week 10 Part A: Researching Email Marketing

This week is an interesting one because it is about Email Newsletters which is something that I have never personally utilized. I have received newsletters numbers of times and subscription lists from stores and organizations etc. It's true that some business send these emails quite often or after purchases, I personally think that can be a little too often. For me as an influencer and a YouTuber I think that once a month would be fine because I use instagram and YouTube to reach people everyday to every week. I think often emails could possibly be a bit of over exposure for my branding, but it's possible it could also help! I would have to test the email system out to see what my analytics would show. I'm not totally sure how well emails would work for my audience age group (13-26) social media may be more popular for engagement. I receive newsletters really often from stores so I think those are top ways that clothing stores etc. really utilize. For me I think my busines

Week 9 Part B: Using Categories

The categories I would use for the current and future blogs and vlogs etc. would be under the categories of K fashion and Kpop so fashion, music & entertainment. These categories are the most relevant to what I currently interact with and engage in on Instagram and YouTube. I think most of my audience would be best to engage if I focused on this area of social media. I researched that these are some of the top categories on YouTube as well. So I plan to add more vlogs about fashion and I will continue Kpop music reactions as well since I have received a decent amount of audience engagement with some of the previous posts. I really want to grow in the fashion area as well which is tough since there are so many influencers, I am in the K fashion area so it is a smaller audience than fashion in general. I’m looking forward to targeting the k fashion and Kpop audience for future vlogs, blogs, and possible webinars or live videos as well. This week, I commented on Sue’s blog ( Unconditi

Week 9 Part A: Blogs, Vlogs, Podcasts & Webinars

This week is about the importance and reasons for blogging. For me this class was the first time I started using a blog and I think it's pretty cool. I had read blogs on reddit and other internet blog type sources and I even read some kpop articles over blog sites, but never actually started my own. I think blogs are great to bring the thoughts of yourself and others together in detailed ways.  Blogs are great for businesses as well because they provide rather direct ways to recieve reactions and reviews from customers and their thoughts on products and customer service. Feedback is really important to gain information about how well your business is doing and what can be improved on. I have seen blogs for restaurants as well as for even Google itself. Blogs can also help other potential customers become interested in patronizing your business or not. Also blog pages can also help consumers receive help and assistance online. Blogs can also have links for webpages, social media pl
