Week 11: Marketing with Twitter, LinkedIn, Social Influencers

This week is a really big week because the content is about several different social media/business platforms as well as social media influencing which is something that I am pursuing. I just opened a new Twitter and LinkedIn account for my kpop page. First, LinkedIn is something that I have opened a long time ago and I also have opened a personal Twitter a while ago. This is the first time I’m using both for a more business aspect of social media. I’m excited to have my new Twitter handle @moskpoppage!

For the LinkedIn platform, I think it’s cool how it connects you to other business around and companies in your field of business. This is something I want it really engage in further to connect to others in my area of entertainment and social media, I haven’t really used LinkedIn so it will be really helpful to increase my usage of the application and add more to my profile. Recently I have worked on my profile on LinkedIn and I also improved my background picture. I also added some of my skills to the bio and followed some kpop companies. I'm still looking for more businesses in my field around my area, more are in Los Angeles County. Hopefully, I can find more businesses and people to connect closer to me.

So a huge part of this week is about learning and researching social influencing and social media influencers. I found it incredible that most of the marketing that businesses use is on instagram based off the article on social media. It stated that about 69% of marketers spend most of the budget on Instagram. I also read about creating engaging content and I'm still wanting to add more content like this for both YouTube and Instagram. I also need to study analytics more to get more out of the Instagram advertisements since this is one of the top platforms for marketing and consumer engagement.

Next, I wanted to talk a little bit about the contest idea for social media engagement. I have attempted to run a contest/giveaway before, it didn't gain the traction I was hoping for. I'm wondering what else I could do. The contest I put on was a 10-15sec kpop dance (with kpop outfit) cover video submission, the viewers would vote for the top dancers and the winner wins a large poster pack of BTS photos (an Album special edition.) I'm looking to see what a better contest or giveaway would be to gain followers and takers for next time. Always looking for fresh content ideas to increase and catch the viewers and followers!

I really liked the article called, "The Power of Utilizing Social Media Influencers for Your Brand" because I am looking to work with more businesses as an influencer. I was able to work with a couple small kpop fan merch stores, but I would love to start working with larger stores as well. The article talked about how influencers like myself can help a business and connect with consumers. "Influencers are the way of the future," was an awesome statement to read. I think that statement really encourages more businesses even small ones to work with influencers like myself. I hope to network with more k-pop stores and k style/beauty businesses that are looking for micro influencers and not only macro influencers.

  2. I think influencers are definitely the marketing valley that has grown the most over the last decade. More and more businesses are turning to online content creators to advertise their products. I think there are many positives to this, but there are things to be weary about if you are a business. How often are ads fast forwarded though? Is the content creator creating an engaging enough ad? Is this influencer going to hurt my brand in the future in someway? These are all things as a business that you must assess and think about before you get an influencer to advertise your company. As an influencer, these are some of the topics you need to focus on to help these businesses' thrive.

Morgan's Blog (Week 1-CSIT 155)

Welcome to My Blog!       ~Hello~ Bienvenidos ~ 안녕하세요     Hello everyone! So I decided to go with one of the “Notable” pink styled themed because it was one of the first templates I really felt fit the blog style I envisioned. This template automatically caught my eye so I went with it! First, I’m a fan of pink colored things including clothes, gifts and makeup and I like the fairly simple blog template.  I also feel that pink is a nice and pleasant uplifting color so I like to have the color incorporated in my media themes. Pink is bright and is often used in a pastel way or in a retro way and I am also a fan of those styles of design. (I also utilize pink quite a bit on my Kpop social media pages so I wanted to use it for my first blog here! ) For me I found that the “Notable” theme was smooth to read and scroll through. I also think the pictures on the right and captions/write ups on the left make
